For Ophelia & Tarrow. For truth. For change.
ADVOCACY. AWARENESS. ACTION.
Circle of Daughters was born from love, loss and a determination to seek answers.
In November 2021, four-year-old twin sisters Ophelia and Tarrow lost their lives in a house fire in northern New South Wales. Their deaths changed everything. What followed was not only the unimaginable experience of losing two children, but the beginning of a long and deeply confronting fight for answers, transparency and accountability.
What began as a family's search for answers has grown into a broader commitment to advocacy, awareness and change.
This is the story behind Circle of Daughters. Why we began, why we continue and why we believe their story deserves to be heard.
OPHELIA & TARROW
Two little lives. Two beautiful lights. Forever loved. Never forgotten.
Before the advocacy, before the questions, before the fight for accountability, there were two little girls.
Ophelia and Tarrow.
Two beautiful, spirited little lives, each with their own personalities, their own magic and their own way of bringing light into the world. They were funny, playful, curious, full of energy and at the very beginning of discovering everything life had to offer.
They deserved the ordinary and extraordinary things of childhood. More birthdays, more laughter, more adventures, more friendships, more discoveries and more moments that make up a lifetime.
They deserved the chance to grow, to dream, to change their minds, to find their passions and to become whoever they were meant to be.
There were so many stories still waiting to be written for them. So many milestones they should have reached. So many experiences they should have had. Futures that should never have been taken away.
Their lives were so much more than the circumstances of their deaths. And while their loss is at the heart of everything that followed, it is not the only story we want the world to know.
We want people to know their names. To remember their faces, their personalities, their laughter and the light they brought into the lives around them. We want their names to mean something beyond a news headline, a case file or a fight for justice.
Ophelia and Tarrow were here. They mattered. Their lives mattered. And they will always matter.
Their names deserve to be spoken. Their stories deserve to be told. Their futures deserve to be remembered.
When the headlines move on, the need for answers does not simply disappear.
THE FIGHT FOR ANSWERS
Five years of advocacy. A determination that has never wavered.
The years following the girls' deaths have been marked by an ongoing pursuit of answers and accountability.
We have navigated Australia's legal, government, investigative and support systems, pursuing every available avenue to understand what happened, examine the decisions and failures surrounding the girls' deaths, and seek accountability from the institutions entrusted with protecting children and supporting families.
This journey has taken us far beyond what most families could ever anticipate having to understand or endure.
We have experienced first-hand the complexity of these systems, the barriers families face when seeking answers and the often exhausting distance between being heard and achieving meaningful accountability.
We have seen how difficult it can be for families to navigate fragmented processes, challenge decisions, access support and have their concerns taken seriously.
It has given us an intimate understanding of how injustice can unfold, not always through one decision or one moment, but through a series of processes, omissions, barriers and failures that can leave families feeling powerless.
We didn't set out to become advocates. We became advocates because we had to.
And through that experience, we came to understand just how much needs to change.
WHY CIRCLE OF DAUGHTERS EXISTS
Their story. Their voices. Their legacy.
Circle of Daughters was established to create a dedicated space where Ophelia and Tarrow's story can be shared, where questions can continue to be asked, and where supporters can come together in the pursuit of justice.
We believe their names should remain part of the conversation.
What began as a personal fight for answers has become a platform for advocacy, awareness, community support and collective action.
We want to make it easier for people to understand the story, follow the campaign, show their support and add their voices to the call for accountability.
We believe families deserve to be heard. Children deserve to be protected. Institutions must be accountable for their actions, decisions and responsibilities.
Circle of Daughters is a way to bring people together around these beliefs and turn individual concern into a collective voice.
Our purpose is to keep Ophelia and Tarrow's story visible, strengthen the pursuit of accountability and help create the conditions for meaningful change.
WHY WE CONTINUE TO SPEAK
Because stories should not disappear into silence.
Because awareness matters.
Because families deserve to be heard.
Because accountability matters.
And because the pursuit of justice requires people who are willing to stand together, ask questions and keep the conversation going.
We believe that when people come together, voices become stronger, stories reach further and the opportunity for change grows.
Silence should never be the end of a story that still deserves answers.
