Who we are
Circle of Daughters was born from love, loss, and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children. In November 2021, my identical twin daughters, Ophelia and Tarrow, died in a house fire near Byron Bay. Their passing was preventable, and the years since have revealed how deeply mothers and children can be left unseen within the very systems that are meant to protect us.
This space was created to honour their memory, to hold the stories of mothers and families who walk with grief, and to speak gently but firmly for change.
My Vision
I envision a world where mothers and children are recognised, respected, and held with dignity. Circle of Daughters is both a place of remembrance and a voice for reform, carrying my story of loss - and the stories of others - into pathways of healing and safer futures.
Through compassion and advocacy, I believe we can shape systems that see families, respond with care, and uphold justice - so no mother is left unheard, and no child’s story is silenced.
What COD Aims To Achieve
Through the development of this platform and our communication channels:
Honouring Stories - Holding the memory of Ophelia, Tarrow, and other children through storytelling and shared remembrance, so their lives and those left to celebrate them continue to guide and inspire.
Advocating for Change - Calling for transparency, accountability, and safer systems that truly protect women, mothers, and children.
Creating Community - Nurturing a supportive circle where mothers, daughters, and allies can find strength, healing, and collective care.
Why Circle of Daughters?
The circle is a timeless symbol of connection, protection, and wholeness. It reminds us that even in grief, we are not alone. We are bound together - mothers, daughters, families, and allies - in love, remembrance, and the shared hope of a safer world.
